Grilling is a form of cooking that involves dry heat applied to the surface of food, commonly from above or below (as in North America). It is sometimes referred to as barbecuing (a word that can also mean a different cooking technique). Grilling usually involves a significant amount of direct, radiant heat, and tends to be used for cooking foods quickly.

"In the Kitchen" visits Westlake Ace Hardware in Lee's Summit, Missouri to showcase today's versatility of this ancient method of cooking. The hardware store has an impressive selection of grills, grilling tools, woods, sauces, rubs and cooking equipment to prepare a wide variety of ethnic dishes from pizza to paella. Inspired by Westlake's many products, Executive Chef Bear Cohen (The Café in the Holiday Inn - Country Club Plaza) grills sirloin steaks stuffed with blue cheese, flatbread pizza, baby back ribs, corn on the cob, a BBQ pork chop and veggies.
